Monthly reports of driver's license applications and permits, 1939-[ongoing].

On the tenth day of each month (the twentieth day during October, November, and December), the probate judge must prepare a report showing the number of driver's license applications received, permits issued, and the amount of fees received during the previous month (see Ala. Code, 32-6-5 [1975]). The probate office sends a copy of the monthly report to the State Comptroller, the Department of Public Safety, and the State Treasurer. The collected fees are remitted to the treasurer with the report. This series consists of the probate office's copy of the report. This record began in 1939 and continues to the present. The information is also found in the Comptroller's Department of Finance series S-9-1, Reports of Probate Judges.
